At the heart of the T.R.U.T.H. Initiative lies a passionate call to action—a resolute commitment to honor and uplift the often-overlooked stories of marginalized U.S. military veterans. TRUTH stands not just as a name, but as a framework for our mission: Teach erased histories, Restore legacies, Uncover systemic oppression, Triumph over historical amnesia, and Honor forgotten heroes.
Why We Exist
For far too long, the contributions of Black, Indigenous, Latino, Asian American, women, and LGBTQ+ service members have been pushed aside and misrepresented in the annals of history. As a military veteran and an individual who has dedicated three decades to the entertainment industry, I have been appalled by this systemic erasure. This is not only a personal journey, but a crusade to correct a great injustice in our nation's memory.
What We Do
The T.R.U.T.H. Initiative was created with a singular purpose: to teach erased histories that deserve to be told. Our flagship project, Barrage, is a film centered around the 320th Barrage Balloon Battalion—the only all-Black combat unit to land on D-Day. For generations, their sacrifices have been ignored, overshadowed by more mainstream narratives. We are here to restore their legacy, ensuring that their stories are remembered and celebrated.
How We Do It
Through community engagement, educational workshops, and media projects, we aim to uncover the systemic oppression that has silenced these heroes for far too long. We do not just stop at film; we are committed to triumphing over historical amnesia by engaging with community-based research and facilitating oral histories that honor their contributions.
We also provide veteran creatives the opportunity to build careers in the entertainment industry while sharing their experiences through storytelling—whether or not their stories are directly related to military service.
From the Founder
This isn't simply about telling a story; it's about reclaiming a narrative. It's about honoring those who fought for our freedoms and ensuring they are never forgotten. As the founder of the T.R.U.T.H. Initiative, I bring my extensive expertise and experience in film and military service together to forge a path toward positive cultural restoration.
